Combing wet hair??

i read in a magazine that you should not comb or brush wet hair...but if you are going to blow dry your hair how can you not brush it first? Does anyone know about this? Is it just a myth or whatever?

ps. while your here do you know any home rededies for stronger hair? Tips?

Combing wet hair??

What I've read and heard before is that you are supposed to comb your hair once it is wet and not use a brush. Think about it thats what the hair stylist does when you get your hair done they use combs. I've always brushed mine though it just goes faster. Sorry no idea on home remedies to make it stronger, try searching the net. Just type in something like 'stronger hair home remedy'. Good luck.

i heard that you do not brush your wet hair. but comb it with a wide-tooth comb.

Combing wet hair??

yes it is true. the general rule is pat your hair dry from the shower. no rough rubbing which causes breakage and frizz just pat it and squeeze lightly. wait 10 to 15 mins before brushing and do not brush hard or breakage will occur. for stronger hair try an avocado and olive oil mix which will also add shine and luster you.

it doesnt make your hair stronger, but for me,when i comb my hair when its wet, then i blow dry it,it makes it smoother.

I've heard a couple things are good, doing an overnight wrap with a little peppermint oil mixed in some olive oil.

Or.... rinse with flat beer...

I don't know if it is a myth or not but I use a very wide toothed comb when my hair is wet to get the tangles out.and I don't have much for breakage in my hair.

I don't know if it is for strength for sure but I love hair masque from biolage, smells great and feels wonderful after

I read in a magizine that u shouldnt brush your hair when its wet because it can break easier when it is wet. u r only supposed to comb your hair with a wide toothed comb if its wet. but what i do is i comb my hair when its wet really good and then when i blow dry it i use a brush but im really careful. and to get stronger or thicker hair u should really try a good shampoo like biolage i use it and when i wasnt using it for a few months my hair got thinner and weaker.

Brush with a comb from the bottom up.

You're right--It isn't good to brush/comb wet hair, but for styling, it's a necessity. Ah, the things we do to look beautiful. Here is how to minimize damage:

Always, always, always use a good conditioner. I suggest any of the ones in the Bed Head product line. (They are all equal in conditioning effectiveness, but my favorite is Dumb Blonde--love the scent). Towel dry after washing/conditioning. Next, use a wide toothed comb to get out tangles (start at bottom and then gradually comb down from the higher parts). Then, let your hair air dry about 80%. Finish styling with a blowdryer and a paddle brush with thick plastic bristles.

If you are going to flat iron or curl your hair, wash/dry it the night before--the more moisture that is in your hair, the more damage the heat styling will do to it. (The style will also stay better and you'll have fewer fly-aways because the extra hours will give your hair more time to replenish its natural oils.) There are also several styling products that you can spritz on before curling/flat ironing that can protect your hair from the heat damage. Check with your hairstylist, or try Ulta.com.

Happy styling!

Combing wet hair??

yeah it's true, because your hair is very delicate when it is wet. but you can comb, you just shouldn't toss it around or handle it roughly when it is wet. if you wanna comb it, comb it gently.
