Why does my hair turn crunchy and shrink when it's wet?

when my hair is wet, it 'shrivels' up into curls (my hair is straight) and its very very crunchy. this happens with no product in my hair and has been happening for the past few months. i can't brush or comb my hair when it's wet because of this, that it instantly turns into tangles even though my hair is super soft right out of the shower, and i can comb it easily when it's soaking wet.

it makes styling my hair very difficult...i can't blow it dry because i can't brush my hair when it is wet (its literally impossible to use a brush when my hair is like this) so i always have to wait for it to air dry, THEN brush it.

what the hell is going on with my hair?!

Try to put in a leave in conditioner first then try brushing it when its wet.

When you wash your hair leave the conditioner on for a couple minuts and then rinse. After that apply a leave in conditioner to your hair so its easy to comb and put some moisture back in.
