Hair falling out!!?

my hair has started falling out.. when i brush my hair my brush could be full of hair and when i run my fingers through my hair strands come out.. i just had a baby four months ago and some people say that your hair can fall out after. is this true four months after giving birth???

Hair falling out!!?

My hair started falling out when my baby was 3 months old and is still falling out and he's 4 1/2 months old. My Dr. said it's perfectly normal!

Hair falling out!!?

you may need to really start taking some serious multi-vitamins. Also, there a vitamin supplement called Biotin. It is very helpful, with hair loss. Here is a link for information:

Yes, don't worry it's not going to last forever. Basically it's hair that was suppose to fall out anyways, when your pregnant your hair grows and doesn't fall out. So now it's making up for the hair you did not loose. It's normal for people to shed their hair.

Hair falling out!!?

yes it normal. whilst your pregnant you body releases some hormone that stops your hair from falling out ...after your pregnancy the hormone goes back to normal and you lose the same amount of hair as you did pre-pregnancy. it seems like a lot more because its coming out at once, but rest assured this is normal - even your doctor will tell you this!

Hair falling out!!?

i have had 4 children and experienced hair loss after the last 3. yes, it can take several months for this to start...be patient, and it will gradually decrease. with my last child my hair started falling out at about 6 months after birth and stopped about 6 months after that. it sucks, but will stop eventually. it's just from all of the hormonal changes and your body really does take a long time to get back to "normal"

Hair falling out!!?

Yep... A ton of my hair fell out after I had my daughter for about 6 months. It gave me a really high hairline and my hair thinned out a lot. (which was actually nice because my hair is normally REALLY thick.)

Eventually all the goofy hair on my tummy fell out and the hair on my head started to grow back. It was a pain because I had a bunch of short little hairs by my face... But two years later, my hair looks great. No worries.

Hair falling out!!?

My baby is almost 16 weeks old and my hair has just started coming out more in the shower, its a scary thing! Dont worry its normal, it can last a long time though, so we've got to get used to it.

Hair falling out!!?

I have to clean my brush out everyday =( When I wash my hair tons of it comes out...when I am rinsing the conditioner out it feels like more and more hair comes out everyday.

My daughter is 4.5 months. Thanks for asking this question, as I was going to also!

My nails are not nearly as nice either now...

Hair falling out!!?

Yep, this can happen.. But don't worry, it's temporary and hormonal. My hair fell out for a while after my daughter was born and surprisingly when it stopped, my hair was in better shape than before she was born. Read up on this strange side effect from giving birth, but don't worry about it, it's normal!

Hair falling out!!?

Haha...4 months is the magic number.

That is when I was diagnosed with postpartum HYPOthyroidism.

There are many symptoms of hypothyroidism....handfuls of hair falling out, dry skin, lethargy, depression, and it can cause a lot of more serious problems if left untreated.

Go get your thyroid blood levels checked by your obgyn, and if they diagnose you, they'll give you a prescription that should turn around your problem in a few months.

I have been on a generic version of synthroid on 20 months, and my levels are fine now....but I have to probably take the drug for the rest of my life.

Hair falling out!!?

Happened to me, too--with both kids. You won't be bald...may have thin hair for a bit...Look up thin hair online...ask your pharmacist..see what you can see there.

My OBGYN wasn't surprised by it--mine fell out still 6 months after my son-the OBGYN was sure it should have stopped by 4 mo after.......I have cool hair now-and obvioulsy it stopped falling out--now if it'd just stop wanting to be gray......

For hair falling out after childbirth-it's not uncommon AT ALL. Happened to all the playgroup moms. I took Iron and one a day vitamins--it's a sign of Iron deficiency discovered online. Didn't tell my findings to the pharmacist-so I could see what he said--and he told me to take iron. OBGYN said "Good." So my little venture into Pharmacy study paid off and I felt vindicated.

Ask a pharmacist. They like being asked-makes em feel important-and I like to do my part.

PS-I can't say enough about the wonders of playgroup...it's wonderful to find out you are not going crazy..and it happens to other mom's too..

Hair falling out!!?

yup. that is EXACTLY when mine started falling out. it lasted about three months, wasn't too noticeable, and went back to normal.

Hair falling out!!?

This is normal.. my hair started falling out when my son was about 3.5 months old. He is 5 month nows and people say not to expect an end to it until about 8 months old. It sucks.. and yes, my hairbrush is near full everytime I brush my hair.. I pull it out in the shower.. I have to vaccuum every single day otherwise my son has it all in his hands.. it's everywhere and it drives me nuts! I guess we just have to deal with it. Best Wishes!

Hair falling out!!?

Drink 10-12 glasses of water daily and have a high protein diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables and dairy products. Since iron-deficiency anemia can also cause hair loss, make sure that you eat a well-balanced diet that includes a daily serving or two of iron-rich foods. Check out
