Why sould you not brush you hair when its wet? What does it cause?

Is it bad? If you have been and its bad for you like does it cause split ends? How would i fix this then?

It weakens the hair and causes breakage and eventual split ends.

Your hair is weaker when it is wet, so when you brush it it gets pulled out more easily- breakage. Thats why they say you shouldn't because it IS bad for your hair. Its almost like why they say you shouldn't scratch your skin- it can ruin it.

It causes breakage.If your hair is curly use a wide tooth comb.Otherwise use a good quality brush with good bristles when hair is dry.Always comb hair out from ends up to the root.It causes less tangles which means less damage.If you do get split ends the only way to get rid of them is to cut them off.Otherwise there are some products that will smooth them slightly but not get rid of them.(try Shine serum)

use a wide toothed comb, is gentler on wet hair. notice that the hairdresser always uses a comb when hair wet

1. Wet hair is extra fragile.

2. Brushing causes the hair to stretch and snap off.
